Mystery Shopper Interview Questions
If you want to become a mystery shopper, then you’ll have to complete an application. See this as a kind of interview. It’s carried out online rather than face to face. With this in mind, I’m sure you’ll want to know the Mystery Shopper Interview Questions you will be asked. Here are the most common ones –
Why Do You Want To Become A Mystery Shopper?
This is a typical one of the Mystery Shopper Interview Questions you will see. There’s nothing stopping you signing up for more than one company. So, getting the answer down for this can help you over and over again.
I guess the majority of us look to mystery shopping to make some money. Take this as a given. Now, let’s look at deeper reasons.
One reason I became a mystery shopper was to help businesses improve their customer services. I like to help. Another reason was that I thought I’d be good at it. There are many reasons deeper than the money that you can leave as an answer for this. Work out what is right for you.
What Skills Do You Bring?
And this is a really interesting one. There are many skills that a mystery shopper needs to bring. So, when you get this as one of your Mystery Shopper Interview Questions, think about your answer.
The main skills are –
- Attention to detail
- Ability to process information
- Remembering instructions
If you have some or more of these then they will be a perfect answer to this one of the common Mystery Shopper Interview Questions.
Don’t just write a list, like this though. What they are looking for is a bit more detail of why you have these skills. For me, I can quote some of my past history. So, put it in a sentence, like this –
“I have great attention to detail because I have worked in accounts for a number of years. I need to produce accurate accounts for my clients and will bring these skills with me to mystery shopping.”
You get the idea. On to the next question.
Do You Mystery Shop For Anyone Else?
Now, when I first came across this question I thought it was a filtering question. What I mean by that was if I said, “yes,” then I thought I’d be filtered out. That’s not the case. This isn’t a trick when it comes to Mystery Shopper Interview Questions. Just answer it honestly.
If you aren’t a mystery shopper yet, then Market Force is a great place to start. Even if you are already a mystery shopper, they are a great addition to your mystery shopping providers.
Other Mystery Shopper Interview Questions
There will be more questions from each and every company. They are looking to build a profile of you, rather than catch you out. My advice with all of these is to answer honestly. We can start to see interviews and applications as a challenge. Just give the answers that are true to you.
These Mystery Shopper Interview Questions will include –
- How often are you available?
- Who do you work for?
- Who have you worked for in the past?
- How far can you travel?
Don’t end up answering because you want to please, and commit to something you cannot fulfil. For example, if you say you can travel up to 50 miles, then they will contact you about assignments that are 49 miles away. Just give the answer that you are comfortable with.
I hope this gives you the heads up on the Mystery Shopper Interview Questions you might face when applying. Good luck!
